The Student House. A welcoming home for students

Just 900 m from the University of Parma, Chiostro26 is a student residence like no other-a place to feel at home. With 75 beds and just a 10-minute walk from the University, the residence is designed to welcome students into comfortable, functional spaces of simple yet striking beauty.

Contemporary comfort in a building rich in history

Chiostro 26 was created by bringing new life to a place rich in history and meaning for the city of Parma. The former San Pietro d'Alcantara complex, founded by the Reformed Friars Minor in the 18th century, is now being transformed into a welcoming space for people to come together and grow, bringing together its historic heritage and contemporary vision.

The restoration project has preserved the building’s architectural soul and original charm, bringing a welcoming space for socialising and contemporary hospitality back to the heart of Parma.

The residence offers new student accommodation in a setting with a strong cultural identity. Living here means immersing yourself in the culture, services and university life, without giving up peace and quiet or high-quality spaces.

A student residence designed for those looking not just for a place to stay, but a place to enjoy life and feel part of a community.

A new identity: Chiostro 26

The new identity Chiostro 26 captures the spirit and history of the complex. The cloister, the architectural heart of the building, has always represented a place for meeting, dialogue and socialising, and is a symbol of community and togetherness.

The number 26 creates a bridge between past and future: it references 1726, the year the friars took possession of their new premises, dedicating them to Saint Peter of Alcántara, and 2026, the year the complex is reborn.

It is also twice the street number 13, highlighting the building’s dual purpose: student accommodation on the one hand, and a place to stay for travellers and tourists on the other.

In numerology, 26 is associated with values such as connection, care, consideration and people's well-being: principles that inspire the project and also reflect the mission of Colser, which for over fifty years has been dedicated to caring for the spaces where we live, work and share experiences.
